Dear Patients,
This week, I’d like to share with you an issue that’s close to my heart: the use of cigarettes by young people and child labor in the tobacco industry. Although this issue is not present in Europe, there are countries where legislation does not protect children from the dangers of tobacco. Indonesia, for example, does not prohibit child labor in the fields. Some of the big names in Europe, such as British American Tobacco, which is also active in Switzerland, are involved.
